What type of shirt is suitable for cufflinks?
Cufflinks are an accessory designed for shirts with French cuffs, also known as double cuffs. Unlike single cuffs, the French cuff does not have sewn-in buttons; instead, the fabric requires fastening with cufflinks. Shirts with cufflinks are typically associated with a high level of formality.
Thanks to their structured design and dense fabric, French cuffs, when paired with well-chosen cufflinks, add a touch of elegance and refinement to any outfit.
Shirts with cufflink-compatible cuffs are widely available in men's clothing stores. The size of the cuffs is usually standardized, meaning the shirt's size, collar measurement, or sleeve length do not affect the dimensions of the cuffs. Differences may only appear in the cuff's finish, which can be rounded or squared. However, these variations do not influence the fit of cufflinks—any style of cufflinks will work with these shirts.

How to properly put on cufflinks?
Cufflinks can have various types of clasps. Simple clasps, where the fastening element is not shaped, do not differentiate between the right and left cufflink. Either cufflink can be fastened to either cuff – right or left – without affecting their proper alignment.
For cufflinks with shaped clasps, when fastening them, attention must be paid to the direction of the clasp. The right cufflink's clasp should face outward to the right, and the left cufflink's clasp should face outward to the left.
At FEINFEIN, we use cufflink clasps with a movable mechanism, making them easier to fasten. Before securing the cuff, the movable element should be set vertically, and once fastened, it should be rotated to a horizontal position to prevent the cufflink from slipping out.
How to care for cufflinks?
To ensure that your cufflinks retain their shine for years, proper storage and care are essential.
At FEINFEIN, we primarily craft jewelry from 925 sterling silver, meaning it contains 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals to enhance its durability. This small addition of other metals may result in silver gradually changing color over time due to chemical reactions with moisture, sulfur compounds, or air pollutants. A simple and effective way to minimize this process is to store the cufflinks in an airtight box or in sealed pouches, which we include with every order. We especially recommend this storage method when the cufflinks are not worn daily.
During everyday use, avoid contact with perfumes, cosmetics, and chemicals. If cleaning is necessary, polishing cloths or professional silver and gold cleaning solutions, available at jewelry stores, are effective options.
The above principles also apply to gold-plated silver.

The joy of gifts
The gift was received with euphoria; it was love at first sight; every detail was scrutinized. My husband ended up looking at his sleeves more often than at me.
